Poop

Semi-hated swim lessons, but claims "I alredy know how to swim, yes."
Hurts himself constantly, limps on his right leg about every other month
Told me at dinner the other night, "Mom, why are you so cute?"
Is a great cuddler
Has an obsession with "poop"
Awesome at his scooter
Tells me he has to go pee, then runs outside and pulls down his pants...
Tells me he wants to "pop [my] boobs"

 Looks like his dad!

I SO Hun-Gee...I no invite you to my birday party!...

I think it can be official that Rocky is our hard child! That kid just pushes and pushes us! He is so sneaky and is constantly sneaking food and/or technology. I usually wake up to him eating marshmallows in the pantry. And cutting open other packages with his scissors. He has a serious sweet tooth and literally - literally - always hates dinner no matter what. It's like he is totally incapable of eating dinner by himself, despite our nagging. If it's quiet for more than a few minutes, it because he has stolen my phone and is in a dark closet playing games with it, trying not to get caught.

But Rocky you are also the fun in our family! You are so full of energy. You talk SO loud no matter what. You love to kiss me, love to be held, love to cuddle me. Everyday you make a "bed" in the living room and ask me to lay with you. You are always saying funny things and are so expressive. You are so good at communicating for your age. Nichole Steadman watched you the other night and she thinks you are just so expressive and precocious!

You are a good boy. I substituted your class in sunbeams today and although you have energy, you also were a good listener. I was very proud of you. You did such a good job starting nursery! You haven't had any problems, besides the fact that you thought you were starting Troy's sunbeams class and were disappointed that you don't get a sucker each week like Troy did.

You are beginning to really draw, just started drawing heads and legs. You can write a "R" and an "O" and can spell your name out loud. You are pretty capable of doing your chores. You don't love Joy School, but you are so good at learning! You are ready for PreK next year, but I don't want to send you! But you are smart as a whip.

You hate it when I talk to friends or talk on the phone. You love having possessions trinkets that belong to you. You bond with batman and love to build with magnatiles by yourself. You still bug Tyler all the time and taunt Troy. Bless those two with patience!

You really need love and affection and attention and I hate that I can't give you all you need. I feel that your rebellion is mostly because of being a middle child of three children who need so much. I expect more of you than any other 3 year old I know.

You are always. ALWAYS hungry. You can just eat and eat. You get hungry before I clean up the meal. You never have enough snacks. You are so hard to keep up with...until dinner.

You poop more than anyone I know - usually 3 huge poops a day. You often will poop 2 times just during quiet time. You also are a free pee'er. I have looked over to see you peeing at the park and at Sea World. The other day you told me, I need to run outside and go pee pee! LOL Why don't you go in the toilet? Idk. But also convenient.

My all time favorite picture of Rocky - very accurate of his personality

Like every child, loves his age and loves talking about when he is 4. When he is mad at me, he always tells me "Mom, you can't come to my birthday party." That is a classic Rocky statement. I hear it every day. To him, that is the worst possible insult you could give someone.

Birthday Party - Izzy & Abby, Emma Allred, Troy, Theo Steadman, Wayne Sorensen, Logan Willardson & Walker White (not pictured)

This boy love loves to dress up - Hulk is his favorite, my horrible homemade bat costume is his #2 lol

Feeling so special after Eliza made him a vest for his bday

From Instagram - "Rocky at Christmastime: Spent a lot of time wrapping 'gifts' (ie change, all 8 of our glue sticks, popsicle sticks, etc.). I only kept his best, but we probably had 30+ gifts from Rocky on Christmas morning. Sang the same Christmas song over and over and over again (In a Little Stable). Braved the man made sled hill. Stayed awake until 12:00:30 on New Years Eve."

New Years. You are a brave kid!!!!

Joy School. You're always extra naughty when Joy School is at our house.

Bobby was gone for Halloween. Of course we missed him, but score! We could eat as much candy as we wanted! Rocky and me went crazy. Troy had one piece....

Showing off your muscles.

The primary teacher told us last week Rocky calmly grabbed her face, pulled it close to hers and said "I.Need.Help.Cutting" when she wasn't giving him attention. haha!

Terrible Twos

Rocky is running us ragged! He is SO much trouble! But lately I've just thought he is the cutest little thing too so he's lucky for that.

Putting headphone jacks in outlets and blowing out the power to two rooms
Applesauce pouches squeezed all over walls and floors
Consuming toothpaste
Pulling out literally every board game and it's pieces everywhere, then spilling bath colors on top of that
Spilled pretzles in the kitchen
Animal crackers in the carpet
Taking off his pants again
Pulling on the blinds
Hitting Troy, pushing/pulling Troy, biting Troy
Sitting on the baby, or resting his feet on his face, getting all up into Tyler
Sneaking out of bed
Hitting my computer keyboard while I'm on it then running away
Stealing the stool to sneak snacks in the pantry then falling off and pulling down food as he goes
Running into walls
Falling off things he climbs up onto
Always putting things in my water cup on the counter (acorns, pens, change, etc.)
Drawing on the walls, drawing on the kitchen floor, drawing on the carpet, drawing on the doors
Sneaking out the front door, or sneaking around the house and riding his scooter out front when I think he's out back
....................................

I could go on.... This is seriously a typical day for him. I had NO idea Troy was such a good two year old.

BUT

He just sang his heart out today during the sacrament hymns
He loooooves loveees Tyler and shows it to him
He will cuddle at any day at any time. He rests his head on my shoulder and touches my face.
He talks so well and re-mimics scenarios so well for a 2 year old.
He can keep up with Troy
He loves to help

I fasted today to just give me patience with him. Help me be kind and not lose it!

He just loves to be free and wild.

He got this weird abscess on his gum. Probably 4 different dentists thought he needed to get the tooth pulled, but it turned out to be ok (so far).

He decided he didn't want the responsibility of potty training and he's back to diapers.

Love you, Rocky Brigham.

The Birth of a Middle Child

The birth of a middle child has been an adjustment for us! You love on baby brother, and have no feelings of jealousy, but you have a strong desire for attention and physical touch and to be held these days. Lots of whining and you are the instigator of bickering between you and Troy - bless his heart. But we still love you Rock.

Rocky has become so good at talking lately. He is putting together longer and longer sentences and just about every day I think "Wow! I can't believe you just said that!" His little voice is still so high and usually ends in a question. Troy and Rocky are just beginning to have conversations between the two of them, and I love to listen in. Rocky's biggest conversation contributions are:
"NO!"
"OH!"
"OK!"
"Yucky ______!"
"Hold you...Hold you...Hold you."
"Owie!"

The poor boy falls more than any other toddler I've ever met. In fact, the dentist wants to pull his tooth on Tuesday due to trauma (I'm hoping we can get out of it). He is constantly tripping while running forward. This week he was running towards me, tripped and his face landed on the kitchen stool...Lots of blood and a torn frenulum later...And that's not even case of his dead tooth.

Rocky has SO much energy and is excited about anything anyone is excited about. He loves to dance/jump (one in the same to him). Still has the most expressive eyebrows, which are constantly raised as high as he can get them.

Rocky is somewhat potty trained. Today he wet his pants bad in nursery. But he has been so interested and wanting to wear underwear that I would have been crazy not to run with it. His anticipation is not great, but he goes on command. It's just a matter of reminding him/having access to a toilet as soon as he mentions it. But overall I am so impressed with him. He practically told me he was going to stop using diapers. I had NO intention of potty training him this early.

I love your little body

At the dentist, I was impressed at how well you followed instructions while it was your turn to be the patient. Although you did act like a wild man when it was Troy's turn.
No cavities! Fewf!

Looovin the beach

Mommy/Rocky date to get ice cream

How handsome are you?!? I love when you wear hats.

You love to line up toys - mostly cars. Then when you're finished you run to me and say "Wow! Wow!" Which I repeat "Wow! Wow! You did that?!" "YEAH!"
You are also excellent at stacking legos and will do it longer than Troy will.

Obsessed with food. Loves treats.

Sad that you can't always ride all the rides Troy can.

You love pockets. You get sad when I put on a pair of shorts that doesn't have pockets and have your hands in your pockets all day when you do have them. Michael's wedding was the first day you figured this out.

You love so easily.

You were so happy to play in the rain! Perhaps because it was so warm.

There is just something about that little body that I adore.
Today when we came home from church you were jumping, and I am just obsessed with how cute your body is! You also have crazy good jumping skills for a 2 year old.

While fighting getting your diaper changed, you rolled off the changing table and onto the floor. I could tell your leg was hurt, but for hours after you couldn't walk, stand or even sit without avoiding pressure on it. So we took you into SAMMC. 8 hours later and nothing broken. It took a couple days for you to be walking normal, and a could weeks for you to run normal. Still not convinced it was "nothing."

Cute lil sickie

At New Years at the Sorenson's you ran straight towards the fireworks. You loved them and wanted to touch them. Here I am trying to keep you from grabbing it. We couldn't take our eyes off you for a second!

That blonde blonde hair! Bobby thinks it was just like Troy's and it will get darker, but I think no way!

You wanted to love on aunt sissy.

I love you little man. Seeing pictures of your sweet cheeks makes me want to slow down and hold you and watch you more often. You are wild and fiesty and take a lot of energy, but I absolutely adore you. I hear you waking up from your nap now - time to practice some lovin!
